![]() At the bottom of this page is a link to the 101st Public Discussion Forum. We welcome anyone looking for info on the 101st Airborne or with interest in the Club to post. However, it is highly suggested that you read our FAQ area BEFORE moving on to the Discussion Forum. Here are a few suggestions for new recruits posting for the first few times. -Read all of the forums for answers to questions that you may have FIRST- our members are very knowledgeable and something you are wondering about may already have been addressed. -Post good questions that pertain to the forum topic- nothing is more irritating on a forum when someone posts "When is the next event?" when they are in the Gear Forum. Don't look like an idiot right away, let us get to know you first, so then when we finally figure out that you ARE and idiot, it will be ok (ha ha-just kidding!). -Banter- let the unit members get to know who you are and how you are before you start ribbing other members. Most of us have developed relationships over time and that familiarity allows us to joke and jab with one another. What may seem like a "put down" may actually be a "term of endearment" between buddies. Meanings do not always translate well over text; what you might mean jokingly may be taken literally and personally. No need to make mountains out of mole hills. If you do "return fire", its always best to add a "Just Kidding" or a "Ha ha" at the end. -Personal attacks- Rarely happens if ever, but needs to be addressed. Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action up to and including being banned from the forum. We are trying to keep this as public a forum as possible, but we do have a level of integrity that we wish to keep intact. Personal attacks reflect upon all of us negatively. -Bottom Line-don't post anything you'd be ashamed of if a veteran read it. Vets and families of veterans do visit the board from time to time. We want to present as honorable an image as possible. Again, welcome, learn, and contribute often! With that said, click below to be forwarded to our message board.... |
